I put off reading Patty's books even though I had them for years. I knew I would like her work, but I cheated myself because I more than liked it. I think I would like Patti's books even if I didn't like her music, but I can't imagine liking her music. Patti really underscores what she was going through and she describes things so clearly you wonder how someone can have a memory so vivid and photographic as she has.
