I was listening to an interview of Rickie Lee Jones by Mark Maron and they discussed how certain records can be touchstones for people and sometimes even though there is nothing but love and admiration for the artist, sometimes the feeling that was intended is so true it's hard to bear it, you are unable to listen to it. I feel like that about the Carpenters, I love them so much I have a hard time with it, her voice is too much for me, I can't bear it. I think people misunderstand that as not liking the bad but it's just the opposite for me, It's like sandpaper rubbing my emotions raw, getting to the nerve or the heart. I wish Karen was still alive, I think has she lived on she would have seen how much newer generations would have loved her and how much respect she had. Great one once again Terry!
