I wish you could have seen the United States about 40 years ago. Much of the marginalization of the country that's pretty marvelous but you won't know it from all the same strip malls and fast food places. Most of the west coast had a lot of funkyness to it, small businesses and places that had character. Now everything is covered with McDonald's, Subway, 7 11 and too much housing. There's so much to say about California, but you have to see the Grand Canyon, the Arizona landscape, Montana in the mountains is breathtaking, the woods of the east coast are out of site and of course there is Big Sur, San Diego's beaches at night. So much to see. I would swap you some quality time hear for the same amount of time in Yorkshire. I loved England and can't wait to one day go back.
