I worked for a University who did this to all employees. It was a great way for them to save Money while they continually downsized staff. I left a high level professional position within that Univristy and they ended up giving the position to a Facilities Manager who had been forced to take on IT work additonally, so now this person is doing the work of three people. Most corporations, hospitals, businesses and schools are doing this now and it's not unique. My current job is doing this as well. I believe that there must be a term for this where businesses greedily pile more work on salaried employees with the idea that "If they don't like it, they can work elsewhere" The neat trick is they just deny it and say it's not happening and everyone believes them. As a nation we are fucked.
